Shelties Purebred and Perfect

Please look at our Facebook page for the most recent pictures and updated information
(Shelties.Purebred.&.Perfect). This website has routine information about us and our adult shelties.

As owners of Shelties Purebred & Perfect, we pride ourselves to raising great Shelties, also known as Shetland Sheep Dogs. My husband and I fell in love with Shelties because of all their great attributes. We have worked hard to build a solid reputation as a reputable breeder. Veterinary Specialists have tested each of our breeding dogs, and our breeding standards and practices are sound. The picture above is of me with one of our fostered females and one male Sheltie that live with us as our family members, plus we use them both for breeding. We have several Shelties that we use for breeding that live in other family homes as foster dogs.

We live in northern Wisconsin, close to the Superior WI and Duluth, Minnesota, border. We are approximately 3.5 hours from Minneapolis/St.Paul. We enjoy having people come to our home to see our well- mannered, people-pleasing Shelties.

The puppy play area has two levels for ultimate fun! Puppies enter and exit from the top play area or from the bottom play area.

In our living room, we have a custom made puppy play area equipped with doggy doors and two puppy ramps which lead outside for potty training and puppy fun! This allows the puppies to be nearly housebroken and ready to play when they go to their forever homes.

A Sheltie is a beautiful dog that looks like a long-haired Collie - like Lassie!  They are intelligent, gentle, affectionate, providing joy and comfort to families or those who live alone.  They also have the potential of being good guard dogs due to having a great sense of hearing and unmatched loyalty to their owners. Each year they rank in the top ten for intelligence.

All of our breeding Shelties are AKC registered and are raised in a caring, nurturing family home, resulting in awesome temperaments and personalities.

After growing up, some of our puppies received ribbons/awards after competing in agility trials.  Agility trials are competitions in which a handler guides a dog through a course containing jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and other obstacles.  Dogs are scored according to accuracy and speed, earning titles from novice to championship level.

Shelties excel in agility because of their natural athleticism, working ability, and desire to please their owners.  Shelties routinely comprise 20 percent or more of the top 20 dogs in the AKC’s annual agility rankings.

At birth, we keep meticulous records showing the birth date, birth order, time, weight, size and markings for each puppy.  We also remove the dewclaws.

Safeguard your new puppy with a AKC Reunite microchip! We are equipped to microchip and can provide this service to you for a nominal cost.

With only a few litters each year, our puppies are in high demand so we have created a wait list prior to arrival of a new litter. We carefully interview anyone who wishes to purchase one of our puppies to ensure we find the right person/family for the puppy's new forever home. Our puppies are exposed from birth to our grandchildren and a variety of people to ensure they will be a great addition to you or your family.

In the below photo are our Shelties that live with us and some of our foster Shelties. Visiting the veterinarian is a very important part of keeping a healthy and happy dog.
